Comprehensive Job Overview: As the Pulmonary Section Chief, you will lead a team of physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers while continuing your clinical responsibilities. Your main duties will include:

• Managing outpatient pulmonary clinics, outpatient bronchoscopy, inpatient pulmonary consultations, and the medical intensive care unit.
• Advancing the VA's educational mission by mentoring trainees and supporting training programs.

Work Environment: This position encompasses both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities within a rapidly expanding facility that provides exceptional care to a predominantly older male veteran population with complex medical conditions.

Team Structure: You will lead a team consisting of 5 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), 11 physicians, and 4 Registered Nurses (RNs). Collaboration with the Respiratory Therapy departments and Medicine Service Leadership is essential.

• Advanced pulmonary function testing capabilities, including methacholine challenge.
• An interventional pulmonary program featuring robotic bronchoscopy and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction.

• Board Certification: Certification in Pulmonary Critical Care is required.
• Physical Requirements: Must meet physical standards as per VA policies and be willing to undergo a physical examination.
• Background and Security Clearance: Successful completion of a background investigation and obtaining the necessary security clearance is mandatory.
• English Language Proficiency: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
