Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Location: Huntsville, AL

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys within the Litigation Practice Group by performing a wide range of substantive legal tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex litigation matters from case inception through trial.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain document-intensive case files throughout the litigation lifecycle.
  • Conduct factual investigations and interviews to identify key parties, issues, and relevant documents needed for discovery.
  • Review and manage e-discovery materials for production.
  • Review and prepare responses to interrogatories, requests for production, and electronically stored information (ESI).
  • Coordinate depositions, including scheduling, communication with parties, and document preparation.
  • Summarize and organize depositions, medical records, and other evidence using litigation support technology.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other filings in state and federal civil litigation matters.
  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and demonstrative evidence.
  • Verify legal citations and authorities in briefs using Westlaw.
  • Communicate professionally with courts, government agencies, experts, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, ensuring all deadlines are accurately tracked.
  • Assist attorneys during trial with exhibits, technology, and witness management.
  • Prepare investigative memos and independently conduct case investigations.
  • Track and enter time in accordance with firm policies.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Litigation experience, with demonstrated ability to manage complex cases.
  • Experience in Civil Litigation or Municipalities preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and the ability to use modern litigation support software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and meticulous proofreading abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
