Job Details

• Position split between Mass Eye & Ear (MEE) and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
• At MEE, sonographer scans head & neck exams following detailed protocol, may assist with US Guided Procedures (Biopsies & OR Guidance).
• At MGH, sonographer scans routine general exams, transplanted liver and kidney, DVT exams (Upper & Lower).
• Pediatric experience is a plus.
• Equipment used: Philips Epiq Elite at MEE, GE Loqiq 10s at MGH.

Job Requirements

• Must have professional license and/or certification as required for the position with primary source verification within 30 days of start date.
• BLS certification required (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF or Military).
• Fit Test (N95) within 365 days of start date and updated annually.
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or proof of immunity.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30).
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date and updated if >6 month break.
• Physician Health Statement within 365 days of start date and updated if >6 month break.
• MGB Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start date and updated if >6 month break.
• MGB Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date and updated if >6 month break.
• MGB Resume including past 7 years of work experience required for submission.
• MGB References: 2 recent references, minimum 1 supervisor or above in skillset.
• MGB Skills Checklist required for submission.
• MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
• MGB Education Verification through background check company.
• MGB SSN Trace with criminal check.
• MGB National Sex Offender Check within 30 days of start and updated annually.
• MGB Exclusion Checks within 30 days of start and annually.

Schedule Information

• Sun 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM at MGH.
• Mon 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM at MEE.
• Thu 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM at MEE.
• Sat 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM at MGH.

Unit Specific Information

• Sonographer role involves scanning head & neck exams at MEE with potential involvement in US Guided Procedures including biopsies and OR guidance.
• At MGH, scanning includes routine general exams, transplanted liver and kidney, DVT exams (upper and lower).

Additional Details

• Pediatric experience is a plus but not required.
• Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred but optional.
• Tdap vaccine preferred within 10 years.
• Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation.
