PASTOR VACANCY
Cedar Grove Baptist Church
The Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Enoree, South Carolina is seeking a Senior Pastor. We are a faith based Historically Black Baptist Church established 152 years ago and we are rich in family and community values. We have a membership of approximately 125 members. The Pastor must be gifted and passionate about evangelism among the youth, young adults, and the seniors. The Pastor should provide a sound, spiritual, and united fellowship: to bring all worshippers to a personal knowledge of and to an acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior: to emulate love and service as taught and demonstrated by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: and to care for its members' and community's spiritual welfare through ongoing ministries, Bible teachings, outreach, and fellowship.
Education/ Degree Level:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity, Theology from an accredited institution is preferred
• Degree Field(s): Bible or Pastoral Studies, Theology, and Ministry.
• License/Certification: Ordination by a Baptist Association.
Experience:
• Preference given to candidates with work experience as a Senior Pastor.
• Proficient in the use of technology.
• Skilled in church administration.
Expectation:
• The Senior Pastor should meet the requirements listed for an overseer as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
The Successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
• Show strong and effective leadership by his/her words, his/her work, and lead by example.
• Possess character qualities which include being caring, humble, and self-controlled.
• Be approachable, trustworthy, faithful, have a strong/ethical moral character, devoted to family, and willing to persevere in God’s work.
