Diesel Mechanic ($25-40) Hourly

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and chassis components. The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and troubleshooting with the aid of diagnostic software and tools, while maintaining accurate service records.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and chassis components.
• Perform preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and troubleshooting.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify issues and complete repairs.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate service records.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors, parts staff, and customers.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Stay current with OEM training, with PACCAR preferred.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience (dealership or fleet highly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, and electronic diagnostics.
• Experience with specific engines is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with PACCAR or similar engines.
• Welding and blueprint reading skills.
• Trailer repair expertise.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean, up-to-date shop with modern amenities. The role involves physically demanding tasks in a well-organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hurricane, WV.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
