VSM Abrasives Corporation has an immediate opportunity for a Warehouse and Logistic Supervisor.

Job Summary:

The Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the logistics department. This role ensures the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position will lead the negotiation of freight contracts and vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate, and manage logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, warehousing, and finished goods inventory control.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers or designated locations.
• Monitor and optimize transportation routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Negotiate freight contracts to ensure cost-effective rates, reliable delivery schedules, and favorable terms that align with business needs.
• Coordination of inbound freight from local drayage companies.
• Manage international outbound shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of finished goods inventory, shipments, and deliveries.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to ensure smooth logistics operations and cost efficiency.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse, shipping, and packing staff to ensure productivity, use of best practices and compliance with safety protocols.
• Address and resolve any logistical challenges, including delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipments.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, procurement, and customer service, to align logistics with business objectives.
• Implement and enforce company policies and industry regulations related to logistics and transportation.
• Utilize logistics software like Pacejet and Sure Ship to perform picking and shipping activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience in supply chain management including logistics, and freight negotiations, and warehouse management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and manages multiple tasks and people efficiently.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and people efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel.
• Knowledge of Syteline 10, Pacejet, and Sure Ship is a plus.

Work Environment:

• May require working extended hours, weekends, or holidays depending on business needs.
• Some travel may be required to oversee operations or coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
