Job Description

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced veterinarian ready to step into a Medical Director position within a thriving, AAHA-accredited hospital in the Louisville area.

This is your chance to lead a talented, 5-doctor team that delivers exceptional care across general medicine, advanced surgery, dentistry, rehab, acupuncture, and exotic medicine—all within a positive, Fear Free and Feline Friendly environment.

This practice combines cutting-edge medicine with a truly supportive culture. You’ll have the autonomy to shape medical standards, mentor associates, and foster collaboration throughout the hospital.

As Medical Director, you’ll work closely with the Practice Manager, Operations Leaders, and Support Center to elevate patient care, strengthen client relationships, and continue the hospital’s proud legacy of community trust.

The facility is fully equipped to allow you to deliver gold-standard care—from advanced surgical tools and diagnostic imaging to rehab suites and feline-only spaces.

The team is warm, engaged, and genuinely passionate about continuous growth. This is a perfect fit for a DVM who enjoys both leadership and hands-on clinical work, and who’s ready to inspire excellence while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Key Highlights:

  • Leadership position within a respected AAHA-accredited, 5-doctor hospital
  • Comprehensive services: advanced surgery, dentistry, rehab, acupuncture, and exotic care
  • Fear Free and Feline Friendly certified environment
  • Collaborative leadership team with Practice Manager and Operations support
  • Opportunity to shape clinical protocols, mentor DVMs, and drive hospital success
  • Excellent support staff and a loyal client base
  • Competitive base salary with production bonuses and profit-sharing incentives

About You:

  • DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
  • You hold (or are eligible for) a Veterinary state license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience and ideally 2 years in a leadership capacity
  • Confident decision-maker with strong communication and mentorship skills
  • Passionate about fostering teamwork, patient comfort, and continuous improvement

Benefits:

  • Generous base salary between $140,000 - $170,000 + production
  • No negative accrual
  • Attractive sign-on bonus
  • Relocation support
  • Hospital profit sharing
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • 401K with company match
  • CE allowance with additional time to attend
  • Generous PTO allowance
  • Parental leave
  • Access to mental health support and resources
  • Much more!
