Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 3+ NICU night shift position requiring recent Illinois RN licensure and NICU trauma experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a Level 3 or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Night shifts: 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient population includes critically ill neonates requiring specialized NICU care
• Trauma Level 1 hospital environment
• EPIC EMR system is used and experience is required
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Implement nursing interventions and monitor neonatal intake and output
• Assist with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices
• Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds and medication administration using barcode scanning
• Work collaboratively with the NICU team and provide peer feedback
• Compliance with a maximum of 7 days of time off allowed in a 13-week contract
• Returning travelers may not exceed one year of continuous assignment and must take a 6-month break before returning
• Firm deadlines for pre-employment background and screening processes apply

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active Illinois RN license, including temporary licenses
• Minimum two years of recent NICU nursing experience in a Level 3 or higher unit
• Experience in a Trauma Level 1 setting required
• BLS and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Documented EPIC charting experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted
• No travel partners accepted
