Safeway Trucking is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee our daily trucking operations. This role ensures freight moves safely, efficiently, and on time while leading a team of drivers and dispatch staff. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a background in fleet management, safety compliance, and customer service.
What You’ll Do
- Manage dispatch, scheduling, and fleet utilization.
- Supervise drivers and transportation staff with a focus on safety and performance.
- Ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance and company safety standards.
- Control transportation costs and monitor KPIs (on-time delivery, fleet efficiency, etc.).
- Serve as main point of contact for customers regarding deliveries and service.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in transportation, logistics, or trucking management.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in TMS/dispatch systems and MS Office.
