Tax Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Tax Accountant to join our team on a very hybrid basis in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Can be mostly remote but commutable to Williamsport. This role focuses on providing comprehensive tax preparation, planning, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise and be dedicated to helping clients achieve their financial goals.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and sole proprietors, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Advise clients on effective tax planning strategies to reduce liabilities and optimize opportunities.
• Manage the timely and precise filing of federal, state, and local tax documents.
• Conduct thorough tax research and keep clients informed about updates in tax laws and regulations.
• Address tax notices and represent clients in correspondence with tax authorities when necessary.
• Provide support with bookkeeping, accounting, and financial statement analysis upon request.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and thoughtful advice.
• Ensure all work adheres to regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.
• Utilize tax software tools efficiently to streamline preparation and filing processes.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing tax returns for small businesses.
• In-depth knowledge of current tax codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting and tax software, including QuickBooks, CCH ProSystem Fx, and UltraTax.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
