Reporting to the Operations Manager, the candidate including an Engineer in Training candidate will bring their industry skills or mining experience, knowledge, and design concepts and ideas to life, supporting and owning critical components of the process from conception to fabrication. This role will participate in a wide range of multi-disciplined customized projects such as but not limited to custom fabrication, heavy equipment repair, conveyors & aggregate plant systems and structural steel design in a fast-paced environment. Core Job Duties Take a concept, design and draw it, communicate and ensure electronic files are current Create shop drawings, communicating with the shop and project team members Create field assembly/install drawings Custom fabrication and design, including changes to drawings and design Material take off and generation of bill of materials Assist with rolling out drawings to production and support the project through the fabrication processCreate quotes (including custom quotes) using spreadsheets Monitor budgeted materials and labour hours throughout the process to ensure profit Learn, understand, and operate Messer plasma cutter and nesting software Ensure customer correspondence is handled in a timely manner (via email, phone call etc.) Maintain tight deadlines by working efficiently Communicate regularly with management on project status and the office team on updates Perform estimating, costing, and purchasing takes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Purchasing materials (i.e. steel) Assist with Quality Control Site/shop measuring where required, ensuring project team is frequently updated on changes Analyze and improve existing processes with a sharp eye for detail and “can do” attitude Help resolve computer tech issues Skills and Abilities Must be proficient in Inventor SolidWorks is an asset Ability to create shop drawings from hand sketches Solid knowledge of welding symbols and parameters Familiarity with building and safety codes Solid time management and ability to follow current established data storage processes Keen eye for detail Sharp attention to tolerances and clearances Strong communicator, able to explain and support their ideas Proficient planning and organizational skills Ability to function with minimal supervision Requirements 3+ years in a similar industry and/or position EIT or education in structural engineering or similar field is an asset Mechanical experience is an asset Ready to Join Our Team?
