Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN)
Inova Health System’s Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) to join our team supporting Professional Practice. This role is part-time. Shifts/schedule could be anywhere between M-F, 8-4; 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
The Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) Coordinator uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes and develops and monitors standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery. Fosters high standards of practice relating to the care, teaching and rehabilitation of persons having ostomies, fistulas, wounds and incontinence. Provides education and training to patients, families, and nursing staff on wound care management, ostomy care, and continence care. Serves as a subject matter expert to peers, physicians and leaders on complex clinical issues in wound, ostomy, and continence care. Requirements:
- Hours: part-time. Shifts/schedule could be anywhere between M-F, 8-4; 24 hours per week
- Location: Inova Mount Vernon Hospital
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Experience: 3 years of experience providing wound/ostomy care and Wound Certification (CWS, CWOCN, CWCN, CWOCN, or COCN accepted) or 5 years RN experience providing wound/ostomy care. Preferred experience in clinical nursing education.
- Licensure/Certifications: RN license in the state of Virginia; CWS, CWOCN, CWCN, CWOCN, or COCN or 2 additional years RN experience providing wound/ostomy care in lieu of cert (total 5 years); BLS from the American Heart Association
- Other: Must be able to function independently, Microsoft Office (excel), EpicCare, team player
