About the Role As a Senior Service Designer , you will guide government clients through our Design Intelligence framework, using human-centered methods to solve organizational and experience challenges. You will lead the development and execution of User Experience (UX) strategies to improve interactions with websites, mobile apps, and digital tools, focusing on enhancing the overall customer experience (CX) for those seeking lawful immigration. Key Responsibilities Manage the design team and related activities such as planning and decision-making. Conduct user research and usability testing, translating results into iterative design improvements. Participate in discovery to understand client missions, stakeholder and user ecosystems, and current journey states. Facilitate workshops and interviews to identify pain points and opportunities, defining problem statements and validating hypotheses. Develop user personas, journeys, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes collaboratively. Create service blueprints and journey maps to visualize end-to-end experiences and identify pain points. Foster cross-functional collaboration, ensuring service concepts are desirable and feasible. Design and iterate prototypes using tools like Figma, incorporating feedback from research and testing. Ensure human-centered design principles across all touchpoints. Lead stakeholder engagement and research to gather insights and inform design decisions. Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to implement and refine designs. Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to shape strategies and workflows. Maintain a user-friendly content strategy to simplify complex processes. Integrate research into technological considerations, understanding platform constraints. Qualifications Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance. 10+ years in human-centered, service, or customer experience design. 5+ years managing design teams and related planning. Proficiency in Sketch, Mural, Figma, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite. Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills and methods. Experience with research, personas, journey maps, and service blueprints. Strategic thinking across multiple workstreams and ecosystems. Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment. Commitment to industry best practices and continuous learning. Collaborative skills with multidisciplinary teams. Degree or equivalent in HCD or service design. Bonus Points Experience with federal government projects. Consulting background. Experience digitizing paper-based processes.
