Primary Responsibilities of a Semi Truck and Trailer Mechanic Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on semi trucks and trailers to ensure optimal functionality and safety. Diagnosis: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all vehicles meet federal and state safety regulations and standards, emphasizing the importance of safe transportation of hazardous materials in fuel tanker trailers. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs, including parts used and labor hours, to support compliance and future reference through repair orders. Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of mechanics and technicians to achieve collective goals and share knowledge and expertise. Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and evolving best practices in truck and trailer maintenance. Preferred Qualifications for a Semi Truck and Trailer Mechanic Certification or formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field Proven experience as a semi-truck and trailer mechanic Strong understanding of diesel engines and fuel systems Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Excellent attention to detail and safety-consciousness Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work flexible hours CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Eligibility Requirements Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States.
