Job Description

Research Senior Associate to participate in the development and implementation of a nationally competitive program on tumor cell biology within Dr. Xuefeng Liu laboratory (Conditional Reprogramming Laboratory) in the Department of Pathology and OSU CCC. Responsibilities include writing and submitting grant proposals of original research in tumor cell biology and oncogenic viruses as co-investigator or collaborator to obtain funding with significant salary support from extramural funding sponsors; developing and testing hypotheses; planning, designing and executing advanced research experiments; conducting statistical analysis, evaluation and interpretation of raw data; planning and writing manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals; developing and implementing new research techniques and methodologies in the laboratory; writing IRB and ILACUC protocols as needed; ensuring compliance to federal and institutional laboratory and radiation safety regulations; supervising and training junior research staff, postdoctoral researchers, residents, and undergraduate & graduate students; and developing new and ongoing collaborative research opportunities. Job requirements include a Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant experience, Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Location is Biomedical Research Tower (0112). Position type is regular with scheduled hours of 40 per week, first shift. Final candidates are subject to background check and possibly drug screen or physical during post offer process.
