Regional Business Manager - Latin America & Caribbean

The Regional Business Manager is responsible for achieving annual sales and profitability objectives for the Latin America and Caribbean markets. They will develop and implement sales support plans to increase market share and the growth with significant focus on the golf and turf business. This role plans, manages, coordinates and implements products for all Commercial Golf Grounds, Irrigation products and parts business throughout the region. A goal will be to attain divisional sales and profit objectives via direct contact with company distributor network. This person is responsible for developing, maintaining, leveraging and influencing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels across customers, marketing, and leadership team(s).

Sales Team Management
  • Work with Sales Team to develop sales plans per each business segment.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to sales staff.
  • Complete Mid - Year reviews for each team member.
  • Complete and conduct end of year review for each team member.

Sales Leadership
  • Develop and execute annual business plans that achieve sales & profitability goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and projection plans for all pertinent product groups in the region.
  • Identify new business opportunities focusing on developing market segments.
  • Coordinate resolution of field issues with the Customer Care team. Provide technical sales support for the development of the Sports Fields and Grounds and Golf market. Keep current on all relevant aspects of the turf industry, including competitive and allied trade activities.
  • Provide work direction for sales managers, sales reps, staff and cross-functional support teams that support the needs of customers and supports divisional goals.
  • Provide leadership and communicate frequently with regional employees regarding goals, policies, and strategies.

Distributor Development/ Support
  • Develop sales programs, implement marketing and promotional programs and provide leadership, coaching and direction to distributor sales.
  • Drive project support through distribution channels to maximize sales through regular visits to designated markets, negotiating orders and assisting distributors with the introduction of new products.
  • Develops distributors to drive improved performance.
  • Conducts product/sales training programs to continually upgrade distributor sales and service personnel in product knowledge and improve their selling/management skills.
  • Responsible for identifying and developing the distribution channel to meet new market growth opportunities.
  • Evaluates the quality of distributors' sales, marketing and customer service through feedback from customers, dealers and diverse sources of information.
  • Act as the conduit between sales, marketing and credit functions and those corresponding functions at Provide needed input on new market development, large volume sales opportunities in SF&G and Golf at the distributor level.

Market Development
  • Identify new opportunities for market development by product group
  • Develop business plan to enter identified opportunities.

Other Job-Related Components:
  • Reports to the Vice President - International Division
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal partners
  • Responsible for direct supervision and leadership of Latin America sales team
  • Travel as necessary (approximately 50%)

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing related discipline. M.B.A. preferred.
  • Must have advanced proficiency in Spanish, both in the oral and written form
  • 10+ years of combined sales & marketing experience managing business plans and P&Ls with multiple channels of distribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute annual business and sales account plans.
  • Proven ability to develop a high level of subject matter expertise in product / features and customer benefits across product lines as well as competitive product categories.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills to enable professional sales business presentations and business negotiations on relatively complex business and technical matters to customer stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to accomplish project goals and annual objectives.
  • Strong data-based analytical skills with the ability to leverage that knowledge into programs and promotions that drive the achievement of annual objectives.
  • Collaborative, results-driven team player.
  • Proven conflict management skills and the ability to reason and influence at all levels of key decision makers and stakeholders within the customer account(s).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demanding projects in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
