Job Description Summary: Responsible for assisting the Executive Director in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating and managing the operation of the Radiology Department. Under the direct supervision of the Exec. Director of Imaging Services, responsible for assisting in the direct management of the Radiology Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The incumbent is subject to call back as circumstances dictate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Responsible for assisting the Exec.
- Director with the management of departmental operations.
- Acts in the absence of the Exec.
- Director in the management of the department.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, monitoring activities, and disciplinary actions of the staff of the Department of Imaging Services.
- Assist the Director in developing and maintaining the departmental annual budget including the monitoring of monthly expenditures.
- Hires, trains, assigns, and monitors work, evaluates performance, responsible for disciplinary actions, recommending salary adjustments for Radiology personnel.
- Identifies and responds to complaints, problems, issues, conducts an investigation, takes corrective action and prepares related documentation.
- Monitors work schedules, authorizes overtime and time off, assesses and adjusts staffing patterns.
- Participates in the development and completion of the departmental goals and objectives.
- Develops and maintains a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
- Attend and represent the department in hospital committee meetings as assigned by the Exec.

- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: - Skills and proficiency in applying the concepts, principles and professional techniques of Medical Imaging Technology and/or nursing plus management and supervisory skills.
- Skills and proficiency in planning, organization, and time management as acquired through completion of a college based accredited Medical Imaging Program; BS in Health Care Administration, BS in Nursing, or related field and 5 years of supervisory experience.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: - Must be licensed and/or certified by one or more Certification Boards such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), or Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Is proactive and ensures the availability of a current license, does not let the license lapse at the end of birth month.
- Notifies any known problems with their license immediately to the Exec. Director.
EXPERIENCE: - Proficiency in current practices and techniques of Radiology Administration and/or Nursing.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and job duties, while supervising others.
- Ability to perform various functions as acquired through 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures as acquired through six months of orientation.
