Job Title: PTA
Location: 7900 Constitution Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
Shift: 8 AM-4:30PM
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible extension depending on business needs).
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities, injuries, or conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of physical therapy techniques and the ability to provide effective, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Physical Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modality treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, pain management, and rehabilitation strategies.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during treatments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards.
- Provide support and assistance with mobility, transfers, and other activities of daily living as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of equipment, treatment areas, and materials for patient care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control practices, and industry standards.
Qualifications: - Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Valid PTA license or certification.
- years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant (preferred, but not required).
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing high-quality care.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to demonstrate empathy.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and move patients, assist with transfers, and support mobility activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during treatment sessions.
- Must be able to tolerate occasional physical demands, including lifting, carrying, or repositioning patients and equipment.
