Position Overview:

We are looking for a Product Specialist, Commercial Property Underwriting to join our team. As a key member of the Product Strategy & Innovation team, you will play a critical role in the development of property underwriting products. You will work closely with a diverse team that includes product managers, software developers, marketing, sales, and other internal teams to deliver new innovations within the Commercial Property Underwriting department.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the creation, testing, and tracking of project requirements for the Commercial Property Underwriting team.
Collaborate with IT and data science teams to ensure clear communication of goals, timelines, and requirements for software development projects.
Provide regular feedback and maintain consistent communication with the team to ensure smooth development, release, and support cycles.
Work cross-functionally with teams in product, risk engineering, marketing, sales, IT, and data science to meet product goals effectively.
Participate in the sales process to communicate the value proposition of the product, ensuring customers understand its capabilities and benefits.
Analyze both internal and external data, offering insights and recommendations, and present business cases for decision-making.
Work closely with prospective users to understand their needs and translate them into actionable product requirements.
Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with the overall vision and business objectives.
Manage the product backlog, prioritize features, and adapt to changing requirements as needed.
Oversee all stages of product creation, including design, development, and final implementation.
Collaborate with product teams and end-users to resolve defects and implement enhancements.
Actively participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints to ensure alignment and progress.
Maintain and update data dictionaries to ensure consistency and clarity across teams.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Software Development, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
A proactive, innovative mindset with a willingness to tackle new challenges and think outside the box.
Strong ability to analyze and distill meaningful insights from large data sets.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
Experience in commercial underwriting and knowledge of insurance products is a plus.
Familiarity with C# applications and Agile software development principles is desirable.
Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power Automate, and Microsoft Forms.
Experience with JIRA and knowledge of the software development lifecycle is a plus.
