POSITION SUMMARY

The Pediatric RN Clinical Consultant is responsible for conducting clinical consultations, evaluating member Comprehensive Assessments and Care Management Plans (CMPs), and acting as a clinical resource to the CalAIM team. This position reports directly to the ECM Director.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position is hybrid; 50% at home, 50% in-person work conducted in Orange County and Los Angeles.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Conduct clinical consultations for member’s care management
• Evaluate, adjust, and advise on member CMPs
• Review assessments and communicate clinical recommendations
• Monitor interventions/consultations to ensure proper follow up care and documentation has been completed
• Provide clinical support and oversight when a team member identifies changes or issues in the member’s condition
• Lead Multi-Disciplinary Case Conferences for assigned region 
• Present education at weekly clinical office hours
• Review and approve Comprehensive Assessments
• Detect and assist in reporting medication errors, duplicate doses, and possible adverse drug reactions
• Facilitate access to primary care and behavioral health providers, as needed
• Assist with New Hire Orientation training
• Assist with establishing policies and procedures by providing clinical input
• Complete administrative duties such as answering phone calls, emails, messages, updating calendars, scheduling appointments, data entry, creating reports, attending meetings, etc. 
• Understand and abide by all departmental and companywide policies and procedures
• Attend weekly meetings to provide clinical input
• Comply with all safety and injury prevention policies and regulations 
• Perform other duties as assigned or required

WHO YOU ARE

• Experience working with EHR/EPM
• Experience working in an internal medicine clinic
• Previous experience with pediatric care management
• Fluent in English (written and verbal)
• Competent with computers, email, virtual platforms, Excel and other Microsoft Office based programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey and exchange information in a clear, effective manner
• Ability to identify problems and use logic and related information to develop and implement solutions
• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of established policies and procedures

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• BSN and valid, unrestricted state RN license
• Minimum 2+ years of experience as an RN working in a healthcare setting, such as a medical clinic or acute care hospital
• Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Valid CPR Certification
• Distraction-free home workspace with a secure internet connection

NICE TO HAVES

• Prior experience using eClinical Works (ECW) a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Knowledge of Enhanced Care Management (ECM) a plus
