Orientation and Mobility Specialist to join our trusted Educational Services partner near
Dallas, TX . This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in developing the critical skills needed for independence and safe travel in school and community settings.
Job Description: - Provide one-on-one and group orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments
- Assess students' abilities and develop individualized instructional plans
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure student progress and safety
- Utilize appropriate tools and adaptive technologies to enhance student learning and navigation
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations
Education and Certification Requirements: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Orientation and Mobility or related field
- Certification by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP)
- Texas state licensure or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
