The Manager, Talent and Organizational Development is a mid-level, individual contributor position that will partner closely with the Senior Director, Global Talent to assess and evaluate current GMAC capabilities, competencies, and skills to ensure the appropriate programs are in place to prepare GMAC workforce for current and future success. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating meaningful performance management and talent development programs, including leadership development. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for developing programs that support long-term GMAC organizational health, including talent succession and strategic talent acquisition. The successful candidate for this role will be future focused and have a continuous learning and growth mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessment activities to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs.
  • Develop and drive learning and development programs and/or initiatives that support GMAC's strategic workforce plan.
  • Review current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals.
  • Promote training and development programs and career pathing initiatives.
  • Support training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the employee development strategy.
  • Identify the types of training and development and resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements.
  • Design performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with People Operations to implement performance management programs.
  • Implement and support programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop leadership capabilities throughout the workforce.
  • Prepare analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results.
  • Maintain frameworks that represent skills, competencies, and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives.
  • Foster a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce.
  • Support change management initiatives.
  • May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined.
  • Provide guidance to HR Generalists and managers related to strategic talent acquisition.
  • Incorporate DE&I strategy in Talent initiatives and programs.
  • Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or certification; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • 3 years' experience in a related field / position.
  • Strong project management skills and understanding of how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, project planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work to resolve operational challenges.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups.
  • Strong collaboration skills, proven ability to work cross functionally and/or in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Comfort with multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work in-office and remotely according to GMAC's hybrid work environment.
