We began as a mineral-exploration drilling company in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania in 1900, and have adapted with the times to become a manufacturer, in addition to the drilling side of the business. Our McKees Rocks (Pittsburgh) manufacturing location is seeking a machine operator to join our team!

In this role, you will:

  • Set up, maintain and operate machinery, while ensuring the interminable and efficient production running
  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
  • Operate hand tools and other equipment.
  • Maintain company equipment and tools.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, preferred.
  • Need problem-solving mentality and ability to work productively as part of a team
  • Mechanical ability and attention to detail, required.
  • OSHA 40 certified is a plus
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be trustworthy and dependable and good communication and interpersonal skills.

This position primarily works in a heavy manufacturing environment where the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including exposure to heat and cold both inside and outside of the building, and around loud noises. Remain on feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time. Carry objects up to 50 lbs. of requires employee to bend forward by bending at waist or by bending the legs and spine. Regularly grasp or reach and pick up objects. Repeated motions with wrists, hands, fingers. Must wear personal protective equipment such as, safety glasses, face shield steel toe footwear, ear protection and hard hat.
