JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title:

Lead Industrial/Journeyman Industrial Mechanic

Reports to:

GM

Position Summary

The Lead Mechanic will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance (PM) to plant equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer standards in a safe and expedient manner.

The position is full time, based in Fort Meade, Fl. M-F, weekends as needed.

Pay $45 /hour dependent on experience and skills.

Health, Dental and Vision all covered.

· Stay informed of and comply with all Safety policies, guidelines, and procedures always.

· Address / Respond to all safety hazards, near misses and work-related incidents immediately

· Offer suggestions and support in efforts to improve Safety

· Lead by example.

· Actively participate in Pre-Job Safety Meetings, and other required Safety training

Job Tasks / Responsibilities

· Repair machinery and equipment in accordance with previous established job plans

· Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery and equipment

· Lubricate / PM equipment and machinery

· Repair or replace equipment which may include but is not limited to pumps, fans, motors, gearboxes, piping, conveyors, or large rotating equipment

· Proficient using hand tools, torches, and welding equipment, pneumatic and/or electric tools and precision measuring tools

· Perform Pre-Job Hazard Analysis, Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO), Hot Work, Hazardous Work, Confined Space, Line Breaking, Safe Work, Daily PM Inspection, Work Order Feedback, General Equipment/Line Isolation Permits, using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and complete required Procedures, Forms or Reports.

· Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect fellow workers

· Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees

· Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

· Good Mechanical skills & Troubleshooting abilities

· 15 years of related industrial mechanical experience

· Associates Degree (Vocational, Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist or Welding) training program preferred

· Fertilizer industry experience a Plus

· Basic computer skills required

· Good organizational skills and ability to work alone or in a partner or team setting

· Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures

· Ability to train and be able to operate mobile equipment including aerial man lifts, front end loaders, and forklifts.

· Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity and safely working at heights

· Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals, and transport vehicles.

· Complete pre-job workplace examinations

· Responsible for safe and compliant storage / inspection / usage of tools & equipment as assigned

· Rotating Equipment experience is a plus (rotary kiln, granulator, etc.)

· Conveyance Systems (Belt, Drag Conveyors), Bucket elevators, Pumps & Motor Experience a Plus.

· References Recommended .

Work Hours

· Generally Monday - Friday with occasional weekends as needed.

Working Conditions

· Heavy industrial manufacturing environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment.

· Travel uneven working surfaces, climb stairs and ladders.

· Operating environment with temperature ranges from below 32 F to above 100 F.

Physical Requirements

· Lifting objects up to 50lbs occasionally

· Standing & Walking 50-60% of workday

PPE Requirements

· Eye Protection, Hearing protection, Hard hat, Steel toed boots

· Occasional use of a respirator

· Other PPE as required per task
