GMC is seeking a
Landscape Architect with Civil CAD experience to join our
Daphne, AL team. The new team member will have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally in working with many industry experts and clients across a range of project types, both public and private.
Essential functions and responsibilities include :
- Primary responsibility is landscape architecture design, secondary responsibilities include site civil (grading, drainage, and utilities)
- Communicate with clients, engineers and architects on both engineering and landscape projects, both written and orally
- Draft and design residential and commercial subdivisions and site plans
- Prepare layered, visual representations of verbally described outdoor areas, present the images to clients and edit them to fit changes suggested by clients and regulatory workers
- Inspect project sites for structural and ground stability to ensure safety in final project, and make changes to the existing design as necessary
- Stay up to date on current practices and landscaping trends by engaging in continued research and education
- Put together planting schedules for clients to use after the project is done in order to maintain the style, beauty and health of the finished product
- Collaborate with local regulatory committees and legal organizations to understand laws about conservation, water use and public safety
- Follow up with clients after completion of a project to ensure satisfaction and maintain a future business contact
- Utilize AutoCAD software to create detailed technical drawings and plans for residential and commercial site plans and subdivisions. This includes grading and drainage, waterlines and sewer lines ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications based on years of experience.
- Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to interpret design concepts and translate them into comprehensive drawings and layouts
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather relevant data and assess project requirements
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including construction drawings, and specifications
- Stay updated on industry standards, and regulations for local and state jurisdictions
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
- 2 or more years of experience
- Able to use CAD software to design outdoor areas, including LandFX
- Proven experience with AutoCAD, including proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
- Experience with irrigation design desired
