Direct message the job poster from Brooksource Launching Tech Careers | Bridging Brilliance & Opportunity Data Engineer - Data Operations (Entry-Level) Location: Greenwood Village, CO (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Type: Long-Term W2 Contract Pay Rate: $30/hour We are seeking a highly motivated and technically curious entry-level Data Engineer to join our Data Operations team at a Fortune 75 MSO. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, automation, and continuous improvement in a data-driven environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and success of data pipelines, managing handoffs from offshore teams, and identifying opportunities to automate and optimize existing processes. This is not a mundane support role—we’re looking for someone who wants to work themselves out of repetitive tasks and grow into more advanced engineering responsibilities. As part of Brooksource’s Elevate Program, you’ll also receive access to technical upskilling, mentorship, and career development resources. Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage daily data operations, ensuring successful job completion and data delivery to stakeholders. Own and escalate issues from offshore handoffs, starting at 8:00 AM MT to ensure readiness by 9:00 AM. Identify automation opportunities and propose improvements to reduce manual intervention. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Participate in code reviews and contribute to process documentation and optimization. Support ad hoc analysis and data validation as needed. Communicate clearly and proactively, especially when escalating issues or coordinating with leadership. Required Qualifications Foundational SQL skills – ability to write, debug, and optimize queries. Understanding of data architecture and pipelines – especially in cloud environments. Comfort with scripting – Python (PySpark), Bash, or similar. Strong communication and organizational skills – detail-oriented and proactive. Self-motivated and independent – able to manage tasks and escalate appropriately. Willingness to learn – open to feedback and eager to grow technically. Team & Culture You’ll report directly to a Director and work closely with a small, agile team focused on data reliability and automation. The team values clear communication, ownership, and continuous improvement. This role is onsite 4 days/week in Greenwood Village, CO, and operates on an early schedule (starting at 8:00 AM MT) to align with offshore handoffs.
