Job Description Investment Banking Analyst, Equity Capital Markets Group Description: The Jefferies Equity Capital Markets ("ECM") group originates and executes public and private equity offerings, as well as equity-linked financings for our global clients. Our team partners with the firm's investment banking professionals advising corporations, private companies, and financial sponsors globally on equity issuance and other aspects of the equity markets. ECM professionals are organized by sector, product and region. Our ECM team liaises with sales professionals, traders and research analysts in our global equities group. The interaction between these groups provides us with excellent market intelligence, industry knowledge and execution capabilities. Jefferies is consistently ranked as a leading underwriter of equities and is experienced in executing all equity products including IPOs, follow-ons, block trades, private placements and convertible securities. Position: The Equity Capital Markets Group is actively looking for a first-year Analyst for our New York office. Primary Responsibilities: Assist with strategic and financial analysis for preparation of pitch documentation and liaise with relevant investment banking and sales and trading teams for private placements, PIPEs, and SPACs Directly support senior bankers with day-to-day transaction due diligence and execution Play an active role in the execution of mandated deals through client advisory work and the review of associated legal documents Prepare detailed analyses of proposed and completed transactions to track developments in a dynamic market Help maintain dialogue with clients through continual marketing and advisory efforts with investment banking and financial sponsor teams, as well as the preparation of instructive materials and thoughtful analyses Attend client meetings across the U.S. with senior bankers Assist with the build out of the ECM platforms through recruiting, training and infrastructure development Required Background: Minimum Bachelor's degree (or equivalent); preferred Finance or Accounting related studies Ideally 1-2 Summer internships in Investment Banking/Finance with a preference for ECM specific internships Desire to learn the ins and outs of ECM Investment Banking Assist in the origination and execution of SPAC IPOs, DeSPAC transactions, PIPEs, and private placements Strong financial and analytical skills essential Rigorous eye for detail Ability to work autonomously and manage a number of different workstreams Ability to efficiently teach, train, manage and work with junior team members Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Good time management and organizational skills Insightful, reasonable and a self-starter Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $110,00-$125,000.
