POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Instructional Design/Learning Specialist will facilitate the design and implementation of organization-wide training initiatives aimed at enhancing employee development while aligning with client goals and values.
RESPONSIBILITES: - Contribute to the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development programs and content.
- Create engaging and effective instructional materials that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring clarity and relevance in all training content, using approved learning management systems.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of training sessions through in-person classes, virtual workshops/events, or e-learning platforms.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to assess training needs, recommend appropriate training approaches, objectives, and modalities, while proactively refining and optimizing learning deliverables.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating assessment methods to evaluate learning effectiveness.
- Support the creation and maintenance of learning content, including programs of instruction, student handbooks, instructor guides, course materials, job aids, and handouts, using learning content management systems.
- Support the development of a portfolio of learning programs and training pathways focused on skills enhancement and career growth.

Requirements
NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (2-3 Days) in McLean, VA & client locations in the Northern Virginia/DC/MD area as required.
- Must be open to quarterly domestic (U.S.) travel as required.
- Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and self-start.
- Must be adaptable/flexible as priorities shift.
- Must be enthusiastic and have passion for learning and constant improvement.
- Must be open to collaboration, feedback and client asks.
- Must enjoy working with a vibrant team of outgoing personalities.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: - Must have a Bachelor's degree in a learning or business discipline or relevant certification preferred.
- Must have at least 5 years in instructional design.
- Must have at least 2 years in professional development training/facilitation.
- Must be an effective facilitator for in-person and virtual training.
- Must possess strong analytical skills and experience with Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) and Learning Management Systems (LCM).
- Must possess the proven ability to apply adult learning principles to create engaging materials, including multimedia content.
- Must be Familiar with UX/UI principles for user-friendly learning design.
Salary Description
Up to $135,000 (based on pertinent experience) Inadev
