Job Description

A physician-owned gastroenterology practice in Northern Houston is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their team. The role is primarily outpatient gastroenterology and offers the opportunity to work alongside renown physicians and APPs. Experience in gastroenterology is required and candidates with relevant GI exposure such as a clinical rotation will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial patient assessments, consultations, and follow-up visits in both outpatient clinic and hospital settings.
  • Perform and assist with gastroenterological procedures and treatments under the supervision of the physician.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Provide patient education regarding gastrointestinal conditions, medications, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate closely with the physician and healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Texas.
  • Experience in gastroenterology or a related specialty is preferred; however candidates with other relevant experience will be considered
  • Procedural experience or willingness to learn and assist in gastroenterological procedures.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
