FT - The UPS Store - Sales Associate

As a Sales Associate at The UPS Store, you will be the first point of contact for customers, delivering exceptional service and ensuring a positive experience. Your role encompasses a variety of tasks, including assisting customers with their shipping, printing, and business service needs. You will handle package processing, operate various office equipment, and manage point-of-sale transactions. Additionally, you will provide accurate information about our products and services, identify customer needs, and offer appropriate solutions. Maintaining store cleanliness and organization is also a key responsibility. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication and computer skills. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries.
• Execute best practices instituted by The UPS Store franchise and Kabelin Shipping Company.
• Maintain day-to-day operations and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Ensure effective communication with staff and management.
• Maintain merchandising standards.
• Answer customers' questions and provide information on products and services.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Follow packaging requirements to ensure no damage occurs to customers' products.
• Communicate all packaging requirements with the UPS driver at the time of pickup (e.g., high-value items are signed at pickup).
• Assist customers with copying, faxing, laminating, and binding projects.
• Coordinate print orders with our print specialist.
• Sell and maintain customer mailboxes.
• Balance end-of-day cash drawers.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Capacity to multitask effectively.
• Ability to lift at least 60 pounds and reach above your head.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per shift.
