Job Description

Position: Fortinet Engineer/SME

Duration: 3-6 month contact

Location: Park Ridge, IL 60068

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Fortinet specialist , diagnosing and resolving outstanding network/security issues.
• Review, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Fortinet firewall configurations, policies, and VPN setups.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams to ensure network performance, security compliance, and uptime.
• Provide recommendations and implement best practices for Fortinet deployments.
• Document configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge transfer.
• Assist with policy tuning, rule clean-up, and general environment health checks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Network/Security Engineer with strong Fortinet expertise (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAuthenticator, etc.).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and remediate complex firewall and VPN issues.
• Familiarity with network routing, switching, and security protocols .
• Experience reviewing and optimizing firewall rules, NAT policies, and intrusion prevention configurations.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for working with stakeholders and IT staff.
