Our client is an expert in Pressure Sensitive labels, Labeling Systems, and Screen Printed products and specialize in printing on various materials, such as films, foils, and papers, using flexography, screen, and digital printing processes. Our labels are designed to endure tough conditions like water, oil, and extreme temperatures, ensuring they deliver your message effectively. With capabilities ranging from small to large quantities and numerous printing options, they are equipped to meet any label and printing needs.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Western, NY. The Manager of the Flexographic Print Department will oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality output, and manage a team of press operators in both flexo and digital print departments. Responsibilities include setting up and operating printing presses, maintaining equipment, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and managing production schedules. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting issues and optimizing workflows for efficiency. The Flexographic Print manager will maintain equipment, uphold quality standards, and drive continuous improvement to meet production goals and client expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and streamline daily flexographic print operations, including setup, plate mounting, ink management, and press running
• Manage, train, and mentor press operators and prepress staff; schedule shifts and develop performance standards and KPIs
• Develop and implement training programs to boost team technical skills and efficiency
• Monitor and analyze production metrics—e.g., throughput, waste, downtime—to drive improvements
• Troubleshoot printing issues such as print defects, registration errors, and press malfunctions; ensure swift resolution
• Maintain equipment via regular inspections, maintenance schedules, and coordination of repairs.
• Ensure safety and adherence to quality and regulatory standards within the press room
• Coordinate with prepress, packaging, quality control, maintenance, and other departments for seamless workflow.
• Stay current on industry advancements (e.g., new press technology, plates, inks, software) and implement best practices
• Develop and execute quality and cost-control strategies, continuously improving productivity

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in flexographic and/or digital printing processes, and manufacturing, required.
• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain printing presses
• Hands-on expertise with flexo plates, anilox rolls, colors, ink, doctor blades, and registration systems, desired.
• Strong understanding of quality control and production schedules
• Team management and leadership skills
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with press maintenance practices.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience in a similar role within the printing industry is required.
