Shift: Evenings
Job Duties:Supervise Esports Participants - Monitor and engage with esports players during open play, tournaments, and practice sessions to ensure a positive, inclusive environment that supports fair play and YMCA values.
Assist with Event and Tournament Setup - Prepare the facility for esports events and tournaments, setting up gaming equipment, seating, and any necessary audio/visual tools.
Provide Technical Support - Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues with gaming consoles, PCs, and network connections, escalating larger issues to IT support if needed.
Promote Esports Programs - Engage participants to encourage return visits, promote other YMCA programs, and gather feedback to improve the esports experience.
Enforce Code of Conduct - Ensure all participants understand and adhere to the esports code of conduct, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and respectful communication.
Assist in Program Development - Provide input on new program ideas, events, and equipment to enhance the YMCA esports experience and attract new participants.
Maintain Attendance and Safety Records - Track attendance and any incident reports, documenting important details to support program safety and continuous improvement.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for direct supervision of teens and implementing planned activities.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Must work well with teens and understand the YMCA, its goals, and how it operates as a local, national, and international movement. Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Upon hire, must complete Intro to the Ys Cause & Culture, Y's Way to Service & Engagement, and I Hear You: Service with CARE. Within 90 days of hire, Preventing Sexual Abuse Between Young Children, Principles of Youth Development, Youth Affirmations: Distinguishing Between Praise and Encouragement, and Foundations of Listen First trainings required. Within 6 months of hire, Engaging with Families training required. Get SMART, CPR, AED and First Aid certification preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Must understand their relationship to the teens, parents, the Branch, and the YMCA. Must possess a character that is above reproach and worthy of emulation by the teens. Should show maturity and have the ability to relate to teens from all social/economic segments of the community. Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.
PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs in sports equipment and other items. May be required to stand for extended periods of time while performing job functions. Give and receive detailed instructions. Required to maintain physical endurance for extended periods of time, in all types of weather conditions. Must be alert at all times. Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor environment and teen's well being. Must possess auditory and verbal capabilities to effectively communicate with teens, parents and staff.
JOB DUTIES
1. Takes responsibility for the leadership and guidance of a group of teens.
A. Acquaints teens with rules, activities, daily schedules and area.
B. Takes responsibility for the safety/welfare of each teen.
C. Keep track of Teen Attendance.
2. Reports all accidents to the Supervisor, and completely fills out proper health log and/or incident form.
3. Plans, organizes, and implements activity plans for special interest activities.
4. Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Keep supplies organized, maintain and clean facility and care for equipment. Takes responsibility for helping maintain good working conditions, inventory, and clean-up after all activities.
