Clayton Services is searching for an Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer to join a thriving company in Waller, Texas. The Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing test setups and fixtures based on specified test parameters.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $65,000 - $75,000/annually

Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

Start as a technician for 3 to 9 months to gain practical, hands-on experience essential for the mechanical design role.

Operate lab equipment and conduct lab testing to support design validation and troubleshooting.

Develop and update 3D models and 2D detail drawings using SolidWorks to convey design requirements effectively.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, work instructions, manuals, bills of materials (BOMs), and other design-related documents.

Ensure that all design documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Engage in technical writing for reports, design documentation, and other written materials to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of design efforts across the organization.

Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer Skills and Abilities:

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability to manage multiple projects and assignments.

Proficiency in VBA, Python, and MS Office

Familiarity with industrial codes is preferred

Understanding of manufacturing methods, welding metallurgy, and principles is a plus

Experience with MathCAD is beneficial.

Entry-Level Mechanical Design Engineer Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field is required.

Experience with mechanical design, particularly using SolidWorks.

Familiarity with drafting standards and Geometric, Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T)
