Job Description
We have a client located in Mt Pleasant seeking an Entry Level Accountant
Duties:
- Prepares working papers, schedules, exhibits and summaries
- Verifies accounting documents for accuracy of computation and proper transactional support
- Applies pertinent corporate and department policies and procedures
- Uses acceptable accounting practices and guidelines in the classification and recording of transactions
- Applies the principles, theories and concepts of accounting (statutory and GAAP) in the preparation and analysis of annual and quarterly statements, expense exhibits, state and federal taxes, premium tax calculations, accruals and deferrals, expense distributions, reinsurance ceded and assumed, and loss analyses
- Identifies possible inconsistencies or errors in financial information
- Writes spreadsheets and prepares customized reports
- Provide appropriate accounting services for the needs of internal customers and to meet external requirements
- Frequently work on several tasks at the same time within assigned deadlines
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- (4) year degree in Accounting
- 0 to 3 years of experience
- Knowledge of personal computers with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
