Job Description

Overview Education Director role at Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The Education Director provides direct supervision and educational leadership to staff teaching Adult Basic Education, Special Education, and Wisconsin Technical College System Career/Technical Education programs. This position supervises and evaluates assigned staff and participates in institution administration. It also implements Affirmative Action/Civil Rights Compliance within the areas of responsibility in compliance with Federal and State laws. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with a starting pay of $44.68 – $53.41/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. This position may receive supplemental (add-on) pay adjustments for additional credits relevant to the position beyond those required for certification, ranging from $0.97/hour to $2.97/hour, based on credits and professional development actions as allowed in Section A (4.12) of the Compensation Plan. A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required, or for those with permanent status as a Career Executive, a twelve-month probationary period may be required instead. Job details: This position is not eligible for remote work and will be on-site. Anticipated schedule is Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM. This position is FLSA Exempt. Travel is not anticipated on a regular basis, but some travel may occur for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimally Qualified Applicants Will Have Experience as an educator in a public, private or correctional setting school system Experience developing curriculum or programs for high school or HSED/GED completion Experience performing supervision or lead worker-related activities In addition to the above, well-qualified applicants will have: A Master’s degree in Education or related field Experience supervising educators in a public, private or correctional setting Experience with college and vocational level program development and accreditation Experience with evidence-based practices and quality improvement How To Apply To apply, click on “Apply for Job” to start the application process.
