Overview:

Chich-fil-A at Mississippi Valley State University is seeking a skilled and reliable Line Cook to join our dynamic Dining Services team. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking delicious and nutritious meals for the college community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare and cook diverse menu items following recipes.
• Manage a cooking station, ensuring timely ingredient preparation.
• Monitor food quality, adjust as needed, and maintain a clean workspace.
• Assist in inventory control, reporting shortages, and minimizing waste.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team, chefs, and dining staff for smooth operations.

• Understanding food safety and sanitation procedures and practices.
• Pass a background check and drug test.
• Food Handler's Certificate preferred (may be required within 30 days of hire).
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and chemical safety.
• Culinary school training preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative while being part of a team.
• Physical stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (68 hours).
• Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and exposure to water, heat, and cleaning chemicals.
• Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Shifts may vary based on location and operational needs.
• Must adhere to company grooming and hygiene standards.
