  • Pay: Guaranteed weekly pay of $1,500 during training. Average salary of $100,000 annually.
  • Schedule: Varying schedules available.

Position Purpose:

The role of the food and food service delivery driver is critical in maintaining the country’s food supply chain. Our drivers not only transport products to customers on schedule and in good condition, but also embody our company’s commitment to customer service by building lasting relationships!

The Driver will operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and timely, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Professionally communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring that questions are answered accurately and promptly.
  • Function as a team member within the department and organization, undertaking any assigned duties to best serve the company.
  • Conduct required safety checks (i.e., pre/post-trip inspections), ensuring that the tractor/truck and trailer meet safety standards per DOT regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and necessary repairs.
  • Follow DOT regulations and company driving guidelines and policies diligently.
  • Promptly report all safety hazards encountered.
  • Inspect trailer to ensure freight is loaded and secured correctly.
  • Conduct count checks of items and verify customer invoices for accuracy.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with freight in a legible manner.
  • Park tractor at the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
  • Drive to designated locations according to the predetermined delivery schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer and safely transport them to customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and notify supervisor about necessary removals as per company policy.
  • Confirm delivery of items with the customer and obtain signatures as required.
  • Collect payments (cash or checks) where necessary, and secure trailer doors for customer returns.
  • Ensure the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked and stored.
  • Unload any damaged goods and customer returns, completing all necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain a daily record of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area, keeping trailers clear and clean.
  • At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.
  • Valid CDL A license.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass a road test.
  • Hold a valid DOT Health Card or qualify for one.
  • Capable of hand-lifting and using equipment to move/stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights, generally ranging from 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds, depending on the location.
