Outstanding Opportunity for Chief of Adolescent Medicine at Prestigious Children’s Hospital in Miami
Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS),the physician-led multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children's Health System, and NicklausChildren's Hospital, a 307-bed freestanding children's hospital and ACS-verified Level I trauma center, are seeking an exceptional candidate to lead the Section of Adolescent Medicine. The ideal applicant should be board certified in Adolescent Medicine and have significant clinical experience post-fellowship. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic or educational environment.
The NCPS Section of Adolescent Medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is committed to providing high quality, comprehensive and confidential care to teens. It offers programs dedicated to eating disorders, substance abuse, behavioral and mental health issues and pediatric gynecology. The multi-disciplinary care team helps teens navigate adolescence in a nurturing environment in which they can feel comfortable discussing their changing bodies, while also treating various illnesses and offering preventive care.
The section chief will be responsible for setting the strategy for the Section of Adolescent Medicine in collaboration with NCPS and NCHS leadership. The role oversees all clinical care, quality metrics, teaching and research, with additional responsibilities including: provide medical leadership, oversight of clinical and operational activities, lead the quality work of the clinical program and promote professionalism and a culture of accountability. The Section of Adolescent Medicine participates in teaching pediatric residents and is home to the only ACGME-accredited Adolescent Medicine Fellowship in the State of Florida. The Section team includes Adolescent Medicine Specialists, General Pediatricians, Advanced Practice Providers, with support of Nutrition, Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, and Pediatric Urology, among others. The hospital’s Department of Psychiatry has a 40-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, along with an intensive outpatient program for adolescents, offering additional support to teens and their families, if needed.

Job Summary
The position is primarily a clinical position related to the diagnosis, treatment and clinical management of pediatric patients in a multidisciplinary environment that includes physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, clinical scientists and social workers. The position offers exposure to a mix of general and high acuity pediatric patients. The position also includes teaching and supervision of medical residents and provides opportunities to participate in research and publishing.
