Overview: Presbyterian is seeking a Cardio Technologistto provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic. Common responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, authorization and in-basket support with the EMR.Type of Opportunity: Full Time (1.0 FTE/40 hours per week)Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8 hour daysHow you grow, learn and thrive matters here.Educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunitiesShift differentials for nights and weekendsDifferentials for higher education, certifications and various lead rolesMalpractice liability insuranceLoan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education DepartmentEPIC electronic charting system Qualifications: 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant preferably in a cardiac settingSpecialized training in clinical medical skills from an accredited Medical Assistant programBLS required at time of hireHigh school diploma or GED Responsibilities: Participates on care team to meet patient care and clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner.Visit Navigation: Prepares patient for the visit, collecting appropriate and accurate data, and providing all aspects of primary support to the provider.Equipment and Procedures: Uses equipment and performs patient care procedures in a safe, competent manner according to defined standards of practice.Message Management / Test Result Notification: Responses to patient calls related to test results, medication refills, and referral requests under the direction of the provider.
