POSITION INFORMATION: This is a contract position with Pro Staff Services, LLC, on a job site in Plymouth MI at Troy Design & Manufacturing. Please only apply if you are interested in this position through a contract position with Pro Staff Services, LLC.
POSITION TITLE: Engineering Build Technician
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Product Design and Engineering
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Engineering Build Technician
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Need to follow written directions similar to a service manual and Installation Sheets
- Need to be a motivated self-starter
- Need to be able to use automotive shop tools in a shop environment
- Need to be able to pick up 25lb.
- Need to be able to communicate issues with the Build Coordinator if issues arise
- Need to perform basic troubleshooting of automotive systems
- Need to be able to document the completion of tasks
- Build and assemble various pilot/prototype interior automotive trim parts (instrument panels, doors, floor panels, overhead consoles, and hard trim)
- Use a multitude of tools including, but not limited to mills, lathes, band saws, table saws, routers, sliding miter saws, spindle sanders, shapers, and drill press
- Rework/mock-up changes to existing parts or fixtures, according to engineering drawings
- Assist both the Engineering and Build Coordinator in troubleshooting build issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM REQUIRED:
- Preferred Technology degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of dealer or auto shop experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of hand and power tools responsibly and in a proper and safe manner
- Mechanic Certification a Plus ASE/Michigan
OTHER POSSIBLE DUTIES AS NEEDED (NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE)
- High proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic systems
- Background in electronic components, automotive industry, and equipment
- Thorough knowledge of test equipment including the use of instruments for diagnostic purposes
- Monitor the automotive mechanical tests in assigned areas, record all pertinent data, make necessary adjustments/repairs to ensure that test parameters, methods, and procedures are met, and report problems to the appropriate party
- Utilize supplied documentation and perform all tasks as required, such as test services, engine installations, engine removals, engine disassembly, oil samples, emission measurements, and data recording.
- Performs all aspects of test operations including build, set up, test plan execution, and data collection of developmental engines, transmissions, and vehicles ranging from simple to complex technology
- Ability to install, calibrate, and check sensing and data acquisition equipment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
